“This unit seems to do the job of the cleaning well. Simple to use when you understand the concept but the product runs through the top tank fast. To clean the chain it is simple and not too messy.”
“Two issues with this product;
1 - the little plastic valve that you are meant to push down to meter the degreaser into the cleaning brushes does not seal, so as soon as you pour the degreaser into the top reservoir, it just all flows through in less than 10 seconds. It looks like the valve stem is too long, so the valve cannot fully seat.
2 - the orange degreaser that comes in the kit is not that great of a degreaser. It foams up on the chain and does clean it somewhat, but you need to wipe it off the chain with a rag pretty thoroughly, before applying fresh chain lube. As above, the degreaser flowed through quickly, so I ended up using the entire contents of the small degreaser bottle on just one chain. Next chain I use this cleaner on, I will try using a mineral turpentine or some kind of brake cleaner, that will dry better after removing the gunk. Hopefully it won't damage the plastic of the chain cleaner it's self, but if it does, it's not a huge loss. I'll give it 2 out of 5 spuds.”
