Ember Sofa Reviews

The sofa (75 inch in Charcoal) arrived in a little more than a week and was easy for me to transport to my apartment. The heaviest box weighed about 50lbs (23kg), which was the seat platform (two platforms in one box(. The cushions were vacuumed packed and took about two days to fill out to their correct firmness. On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the floor, 1 being a puffy coat, it's a 5. I have hip and pelvic issues so I need a firmer seat. The seat depth on the 75-inch is 71 inches. Good if you have kids or petite friends who want to nap but harder for tall folks. The frame is solid and does not squeak at all. I'm a 5'1, 120lb woman in my mid-30s and was able to put the sofa together on my own in about 40 minutes. Assembly was very easy with the instructions clearly labelled and the sofa covers labelled for the correct insert. You cannot assemble the sofa completely without the legs because of the connecting brackets for the seat bases. Surprisingly, the charcoal fabric appears to be cat proof. My cat can scratch it but hasn't left any snags. I haven't spilled anything to determine how to clean it, but distilled water is the recommendedation for this material. For the cons, I find the back and seat a bit too short. If you want to take a nap, you have to take the back cushions off. In the photos, I have two 20x20 inch throw pillows, which overwhelms the sofa. While the seat is about 23 inches in length, I think it's a tad too short if you want to sit with your legs tucked. Overall, this sofa is a MAJOR upgrade from a flatpack one I bought as a temporary (and uncomfortable) solution due to pandemic shipping delays.
