Nomad Velvet Sofa Midnight - Performance Velvet / Ebony - Wood Reviews

2 Rating 1 Reviews
We are BIG pet people, which is what led me to Burrow. We have rescued for years and have many adopted pups AND cats who share our furniture, which has left us on gross thrift store finds during that time. We have never paid for high price, high quality furniture. We saved up for three years while I read the reviews and directly talked with customer service about the best fit. They assured me that the velvet material is the best fit for cat claws, and that fur brushes right off so cleaning is a breeze. After owning the velvet couch for 8 months, it has been mildly effective for cats but horrible for keeping clean. I can see the damage on the corner that cats have tried to scratch, BUT I will say it’s minimal compared to normal couches and I wouldn’t be bothered if that was the only problem. But keeping the fur off the furniture is an absolute nightmare. It is NOT easy to clean off- the fur gets caught in the velvet, and sometimes my shop vac isn’t strong enough to pull it out. Lint rollers and other tricks don’t work well either. They send a roller brush to swipe over it, which is nice, but is not nearly strong enough to fully work. If I truly wanted it fur free, I would have to pull individual hairs out by hand, one by one. I would also need to clean it twice a day to keep up. In short, I regret getting the couches so much, and I have no idea when I’ll be able to get nice furniture (from somewhere else) again. The other fabrics might not have this problem, but I can’t switch out the fabrics to check. I will say, if pets weren’t a factor, I believe I would think this was a very nice furniture set. It is water resistant so you can clean up spills, and overall very sturdy (although firmer to sit on than I originally thought.) But since they advertise it for pet owners as primary draw, and I specifically got feedback about what fabric to get, I am very disappointed.
