The color is light enough to not grab excess heat from the sun, but has enough color to not show stains, (wish wash off easily afterwards). I ran 140 miles wearing this shirt on the Colorado River in 1 day when it was 110+ degrees out. Having the hood-to-hat attachment with my face covered was golden.At the end of the day when I took off the shirt, I felt great, zero sunburn and zero wind-burn on my face . . . if that's not a test I don't know what is.
