“d into a new to us house and there were no remotes for the Genie Excelerator openers. My wife's car has it built in so she was all set, but my truck does not. So I picked up this little guy and it works great.The remote shows up in a clear package and has a very simple instruction sheet. The remote itself is very small and slim. It comes with a metal visor clip and I am using that to keep it in my truck.Programming was easy and it took minutes. First thing I did was pull the little battery tab to activate the remote. Next I opened my garage door and I had to open the light cover on my openers to access the learn button. Once I had access to that I just pressed the learn button on the opener and then pressed the desired button on my remote a few times. The door closed when it was programmed. I did the same for the second opener.The rubber buttons feel well made, The range is very good, and the remote seems like it will last. I definitely recommend this remote if you have a Genie opener.”

“Not sure where all the hate is coming from on these 1- and 2-star reviews. I bought 3 of these things, and they work great. Range has been no problem: I am often a block away when I press the button, and my door is already finished opening as I roll up to it. Impressive, considering it uses a battery the size of a quarter, and the unit is small and light enough to keep in your pocket.Programming worked fine with my older Genie opener.I've occasionally had problems where I pressed the button twice and reversed the opening process, but that is rare.I was nearly scared off of ordering these units because of the numerous, highly-ranked reviews that panned this product. I am glad I went ahead and ordered it anyway. I suspect most of these problems are due to user-error.If you are not idiotic, you should have no problems with this opener.”
