“Bought for my elderly mother as a direct replacement for an older model of the same fire, mainly because of the high heat output of 5.2 kw, which is one of the best on the market. Looks much more solid than a lot of the other old style radiant gas fires that are available, including other Flavel models, and is much better finished. The ignition is slightly tricky and it takes a few goes to get the hang of it, but my mother, who has arthritis, is managing it without having to install the extra grip. She is very pleased with the fire and I would rate it good value for money, particularly at a discounted price. It is well worth shopping around for a good price as retailers vary a lot.”
