A bit of extra room, which he prefers. This size with his detentions fit more relaxed and not skin tight. The 38'' length we knew would be about a size too long but he was so excited to cuff his jeans for the first time in his life. . . and they look amazing. I wish I could attach photos! For future sizing he could easily be a 38x36''
