“I'm a lady, but couldn't find a slim fit jean version in the womens section. These did the trick but I do wish they made a womens verison with smaller front pockets to flatter a women's figure more and a higher waist. For the fellas, I'm sure these will do the trick nicely if your looking for a slim fit jean.”
“Jeans fit and looked great, but the quality is terrible. I had to get the pockets re-stitched within 2 weeks and after a month the seat split. Now they are in the garbage.”

“As a first time customer of American Tall, I was very excited to find this brand, especially after reading many of the great reviews. As a first purchase, I ordered a Carman tapered fit and two Dylan slim fit jeans (Coastal Blue and Black), along with some shirts and jogging pants. My goal was to see if the Carman or Dylan fit would be better for me.
Overall, I was happy with the quality of the order. Shirts were great, joggers were decent, and the Coastal Blue Dylan jeans fit beautifully! I then tried on the Black Dylan jeans which were baggy throughout and VERY loose around the waist, despite being the same size (32W) as the others. The Black Dylan jeans were 3 1/2 inches off of my waist versus just under an inch on the Coastal Blue Dylan and the Blue Steel Carman, which fit the way most 32W pants fit me.
I reached out to American Tall support to share the issue and work together a resolution. The color and material of the black jeans were great, but the fit and sizing were awful. The support rep declined to accept that there was anything defective or wrong about the black jeans and offered to exchange them for another pair of the same or different size. With unreliable sizing and inconsistent fit, having the same jeans sent to me seemed like a waste of time and shipping dollars. I made what I felt was a reasonable request, which was to swap the black Dylan jeans for a second pair of the coastal blue Dylan jeans. I didn't particularly want a second pair of the same jeans, but the color selection and stock for my size was quite narrow and at that point, I just wanted a pair of jeans that I knew would fit. The support rep said they couldn't do that and pointed to their exchange policy's fine print that exchanges are free only for a different size of the same exact item. The exchange policy I read under the "FREE DELIVERY AND RETURNS" section of the product page clearly states that Exchanges are FREE.
Not only can I not exchange the Blue Steel Carman pants for a pair of Dylan (which at this point, I can live with, though not totally happy with the Carman fit), but I can only swap the jeans with sizing issues for another pair of the same jeans with sizing issues. Photos of the sizing issues were sent via chat.
I’ve typically shopped online with bigger brands with limited tall offerings. With American Tall being a young company and serving a niche market, I can respect that they may not be able to offer the same return policy as most big brands. However, failing to acknowledge a product issue while complicating the resolution process is a sure-fire way to prevent a first-time customer from converting to a long-term or even lifetime customer, which I was very much looking forward to. Hopefully they can figure this out, but until then, I will remain a first time customer.”
