“Bought this for my 6'7" husband last year during a sale, and we hadn't had cold enough days for him to wear it since. I had forgotten about the zipper reviews and didn't think to warn him about it when he put it on today. He immediately got the zipper stuck on the first use and broke one of the zippers off trying to get out. It's very frustrating that an otherwise useful jacket would have such a major flaw, especially after so many responses criticizing this aspect.”

“When I first saw this product being offered by American Tall in conjunction with the relatively popular brand Point Zero, which I have fond memories of their clothing from Sears over the years, I was intrigued, but not yet willing to buy it. But after the success of the Long Johns And Sons bomber jacket and the American Tall rain jacket (despite the horrid smell that took a week of airing out and multiple washes to remove), I read through all the review comments, and decided to buy it during the recent awesome last chance deal that it was on for.
Just arrived yesterday and so I inspected it and then tried it on. Based on the review comments I knew to be wary of the zipper, which is plastic, appears to be two way, definitely is finicky and can take some patience and tender loving care to do up, but I have faith that it will work out. Then I tested out the thumb holes and while I can get my thumb in, the placement is a little off so I will probably just wear it without using those unless I can stretch it out enough to make them useable. Then I tested out the pockets, the hood and the neck. The pockets are deep but are a bit small for my very long basketball player hands but I'm sure that they will be fine and good for storage like the rest of the pockets. The hood can go over my head completely without issue and the neck can do up just fine too, so that's good. Then upon doing everything up as I was in an air conditioned place, I moved around in it, stretched it out, and tested the warmth. While it's not testing versus fall or winter temperatures, the jacket did start to warm me up quite quickly, so I am looking forward to testing it out in our Northern Ontario winters. And since I gained from 150lbs to 170lbs over the last 1.5-2 years, I am definitely glad that I sized up from the Medium Extra Tall (MXT) that my two other coats were/are and went with the Large Extra Tall (LXT) instead, as while it probably would have fit with no need for the thumb holes at all, I don't think any layers would have fit under an MXT, so LXT for the win.
Chances are I'll put in an additional review once I wear it on a blistering cold winter day, but until then, I am glad that I read the reviews to heed their warnings, but overall more glad that I have purchased this wonderful coat.

“this is the first winter coat I've ever had with sleeves that actually covered my arm. The quality of the coat (durability, seams, material) is top-notch. I'm 6'5" / 170lbs and this coat was snug but not tight. I used to struggle with sleeves juuuuuussst not quite long enough so they liked to bunch up behind my watch or constantly get caught on it - this coat fits comfortably over and past my watch. The ONLY drawback IMO is the hood isn't fully detachable (just the fur) but hey - I'm so pleased about having a coat that fits and at this quality. Superb!”
“This parka is nice and warm and comfortable. The only thing I would change is making the slash pockets a little deeper to accommodate my big hands. I'm 6'5" and weigh 210 lbs. I bought a large and found it was pretty snug over a hoodie so exchanged it for extra large (no extra charges). All happy now!”
