“Loved these pants, the fit and length were perfect. They were buttery soft and could be styled up or were comfortable enough to sleep in. But then I washed them and was very disappointed to find that they pilled terribly. I didn’t even put them in the dryer, just air dried. The pilling looks terribly. Now they look like a ratty old pair of pants. So sad to see this.”

“I bought these over a year ago, wore them once and then I’ve been pregnant and recently wore them again. I loved these pants the first time I wore them, the material is soft, the length is fabulous, they are an elevated lounge pant but they don’t wash well. I have worn them maybe 3 times and they look cheap! As a tall person it is so hard to find durable staple pieces and American Tall is a hit or miss with quality.”

“These pants are amazing BUT they began piling not long after purchasing. Look, they look dressy while being super comfortable. I love everything about them, but given the price, they should not be piling. I had hoped these pants would last a while, but after a couple washes they looked not so nice. Bummed because I would have bought more of them.”

“Unfortunately, these pants are very inconsistent in inseam and quality. I originally ordered an extra tall in both the navy and portobello colors. The navy extra tall inseam measured out to be 37.5 inches (a bit too long for me), while the portabello extra tall was 36 inches, as the website states. The navy pants were made out of a thicker material, while the portabello were noticeably thinner. I exchanged the navy pair for a regular tall, but they measure 31.5 inch inseam (nowhere close to the 34 inch inseam that is listed on the site)! I exchanged the navy pants again for an extra tall, but this time I received a thinner material with a correct inseam on 36 inches. At this point, the inconsistencies are ridiculous. It’s already a hassle to have to shop online and not be able to try on clothes in stores, but for a company that prides itself on catering to tall people, having to place an order 3 times and receive items not as listed is a huge disappointment. Hopefully American Tall finds more reliable vendors in the future.”

“This pair of pants fits so well and is very comfortable! The only drawback is that the material pills and snags relatively easily (I have had mine for about two months or so now and they have gotten a lot of wear).”

“I have two pairs of these pants, black and blue. My blue ones I’ve had since the summer and they have held up. Then last month I got the black pair for my birthday. I am 6’5 so I never dry my pants, always air dry or VERY low setting on the dryer. The Black pair is totally pilling all over, which is ridiculous after three washes. These pants are $80, I am very careful when washing them and they still pill? Very disappointed. Other than the quality being very poor, the pants are really cute and are perfectly long for my 37 inch inseam.”
