“Couple years ago I bought a denim jacket in vintage medium blue XS. I liked the color,length, and width of shoulder was exactly mine. Yes, smell is awful but wash it, and it will go away after some wearings. Recently, I lost it and bought the second the same one. I would like to say that color is darker, more blue than vintage medium blue. When I roll up the cuffs, the inner color is even darker and vivid. The main concern is width of the shoulders, it is wider ☹️.”
“I really love this jacket (I ordered the "Tall Women's Denim Jacket in Vintage Medium Blue," but I have to give it 4/5 stars. First the good things - the quality of the craftsmanship is very very good, the fit is excellent (I've had so much trouble finding jackets with sleeves that are long enough and the extra tall is the perfect length for me, and it also fits my broad shoulders), and the style feels tailored and feminine (although I would suggest taking in the waist a bit more in the back so it's more flattering to the curve of the back and the waist.) The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that when it arrived, it had an unpleasant sulphur-like odor. (I've encountered this with other clothing companies as well in the past.) I did some research and apparently this odor is sometimes present in denim with darker washes - the odor could be from the dye, or sometimes some clothing companies spray formaldehyde on denim to prevent molding during shipping. I don't know which is the case with this jacket, but the smell does NOT come out in a simple wash with laundry detergent. (I didn't put it in the dryer because I didn't want to set the smell.) I really wanted this jacket to work, so I tried soaking it in OxiClean "Odor Blaster" powder with cool water for 24 hours, and it still smelled bad. I then tried soaking it in 4 gallons of slightly warm water plus 3 cups of white vinegar for 24 hours, and the smell was still there. I then tried soaking it in a slightly warm 50/50 water/vinegar solution for another 24 hours. This last step seems to have helped - I'm drying it in the sun now and hopefully the smell will be totally gone, I guess we'll see. I hope I can wear it. Anyway, I really like all the products I've ordered so far from American Tall but I'm not sure I would order any denim again in a medium or darker rinse.”
“Just love this! I got size xl-xt and it fits perfect. I’m 6’1” and us size 16 usually. I wear this jacket open; if I buttoned it close, it would be a bit snug but that’s because I am a little fat.”
