“I use Quantower exclusively for trading futures on AMP. It's really important to me to have server-side orders and this platform does that for me. It has a ton of features but I don't use very many. I really like the brackets mode and the ability to save multiple bracket templates. I use this heavily. I'm not sure if its a Quantower issue or CQG but when creating a limit order bracket in the market, I can't adjust the OCO orders until after the initial limit order is executed. Being able to do this would be an improvement. I normally use the DOM to create orders but having the option to move orders on the chart directly is a great feature! Changing the view within the chart (moving the candlesticks around with one click, zooming in, etc) is intuitive and effecient. I much prefer it to other charting platforms. The "Bind" and Save a Bind as Template feature is a novel approach and I really like this feature! Finally I like the built in Volume Profile and TPO chart. I use these occasionally and the Volume Profile gives me a lot more options than other platforms I've used. Great product, thank you!”
“I've been using the app for almost 2 years, it's very efficient, well-designed, and most importantly very accurate; great customer service and also highly customizable if you know C# and this is all with the free version; I have yet to try the paid versions but I am eager to do it, I truly like this app even more than Thinkorswim that I have used for well over 15+ years.”
“In principle very good. The problem with the AMP Quantower is, though, the version is not updated properly. To be specific, the version number is behind the "real" Quantower version.
Furthermore, loading volume analysis data takes very long with the AMP/CQG setup takes forever, at least in comparison with a dxFeed setup. Just for clarification, my internet connection is not the problem - it is very strong.
Personally, I suspect it is related with the AMP Quantower and/or with CQG.”
“Good:
- Quantower is fast even during heavy market activities.
- Nice modern UI
- Easy to use but customization are a bit tedious
Bad:
- Fonts are small and should have the capability to change size for all of Quantower. I get there are customization but some of them are not even necessary
- Can not do trailing stop on opened position
- Stop loss / take profit only works if you use your original defined setting. If you change this setting after the trade is place, SL / TP is lost. Extremely annoying
- SL / TP are only in ticks and not points or dollar amount
- no abilities to custom fit different panels are at least make it even in sizing. Right now you have to adjust the size by look.
- Can not duplicate existing workspace, need ability to copy a workspace so additional things can be added on. There are so many setting that recreating it takes time if you want a different look on a different workspace
- Update on AMP are several months behind the current release on Quantower”
