“This is the first key holder I have ever purchased and my 2nd shell piece from AL. I had a hard time getting my keys in here bc they were of different sizes. It also wasn't easy to secure the keys at first bc the screws where getting loose. I applied some loctite on the screws and now they haven't gotten loose.
The shell is really nice but I don't thinnk that the shell they use is reflected of what you actually get per their online pictures. This is my second shell purchase and every shell offering they have on their site shows that it is shiny yet this key holder and a wallet I purchased were not shiny in person. I have tried reaching out to them via email and they tell me that I have to wear them for a while before they become shiny. This is not my experience with my shell boots(also horween shell) which were shiny from day 1 and I bought them back in May 2025. I did not have to wear the boots for months in order for them to retain their shine nor did I have to wear for months for their sheen to come through so this is very confusing seeing as though both are horween shell cordovan. Maybe it's just me, probably is but I swear the shell they use irl doesn't not match up with their shell on their website photos and I don't understand how that can be.
Anyways, it is what it is and I'm still happy with my purchase however, just know that what you see online is not what you're going to get. I wear my Garnet Shell Cordovan Lucky Card wallet everyday and it has not produced said shine nor had it ever been as shiny as what they depicted online. Thanks!”
