“The problem is that I love getting new Ashland Leather products. (In addition to the Fat Herbie, I have their veg-tan belt and I use Tony the Ant as a card case.) Unless I get mugged or lose it, I will have my Fat Herbie for the rest of my life. That means, sadly, that I will never have a legitimate reason to get another Ashland wallet. I've had my Fat Herbie for six years. The leather has evolved, taking on a beautiful, dark patina. It has also softened just a bit to curve when I sit down. (Ever had a wallet that felt like you were sitting on stack of index cards? This is not that wallet. It wears in quickly to conform to your body, like raw-denim jeans.) Because it's made from cordovan leather, my wallet doesn't have a single crack or wrinkle, and it never will. That speaks to the quality of the leather, but the in-house craftsmanship at Ashland is also superb in terms of how the wallet is designed and the durability of added materials like stitching.
This is the last wallet you'll ever need. But, if you're like me, it's definitely not the last Ashland Leather wallet that you'll want.
