“I've owned my YS640 since 2014 and decided it was time to upgrade the controller. The original worked, but I was concerned that I wouldn't be able to purcahse the conversion kit forever. I'm really glad I updated my smoker. The instructions were very straightforward and included everything I needed.”

“This is a game changer if you have the old control panel. Super easy install with simple hand tools. For my test drive I smoked a brisket over night and monitored it while I was laying in bed. No more getting up to check on the temp. These Yoder smokers will last a lifetime so its time to reinvest in your BBQ experiance.”

“New acs struggles to maintain high heat above 450 for pizza oven cooking and would not shut down properly. Woulda given it a 2 but Yoder customer support sent me a new one. So just installed new one and haven’t tested it yet.”

“I have a 2016 Yoder 640. I was waiting for the controller to die to make this upgrade last month It finally kicked the bucket. I didn’t think it was gonna make that much of a difference going to the newer controller. It actually helps with start up. With my old controller, it used to smoke out my whole patio with this one. It literally starts within a few minutes. This also maintains temperature a far better, I also have to say it’s pretty nice to be able to see the temp of my smoker without having to crawl out of bed to check on an overnight smoke.”

“The fire board app is very nice as it can review past cooks. Also I was having an issue with a temp probe and Yoder was able to look at my grill as I have it connected to the internet and determine that it was not up to date on firmware.”
