“My first time brewing this one. It is a delicious full bodied beer. The first tastes was after about 4 weeks in the bottle. I fully expect that it will keep improving with age.

“Excellent kit and very easy thanks to the extract base.
I've made 2 batches of this kit so far, once was straight from the instructions, added the optional brown sugar and pulled it back to 18L, worked reasonably well but lacked some body and the ABV ended lower than expected, it lacked the funky yeasty ester flavours that make the belgian triples and quads special. The second go around I used a very nice dark brown sugar, pulled back to 16L and used an M31 Belgian Triple Yeast that handled the warmer ferment much better.
That was magic, and after a few months of extra ageing and bottle conditioning beat the real thing in a blind taste test. Not bad for something that you can whip up in a couple hours with beginners extract brewing kit.
Planning to give it another go once the summer heat backs off a bit with some other tweaks and add-ins to see what it can become.”

“Adjusted my recipe to make a 5 litre batch. Found that the kit was good for 2 batches. Just kept the half used kit in the fridge until I was ready for it. Although I was concerned about the mix being too much for 5l, turned out perfect.

“I've just put my second brew of this into bottles today and will be happily tasting it around Christmas. Makes a nice strong ale at the suggested volume but can also be easily adjusted by adding more liquid. It's quite a unique flavour. Not super dark and almost spiced I would say. I highly recommend giving it a crack.”
