“I purchased these hock wraps for my large, eight-year-old shepherd mix to see if it would help with the stiffness in his hind legs on walks. He has osteoarthritis but is still mobile. The wraps seem like they’re good quality overall, but they seem uncomfortable for my dog. He refuses to walk with them on. He just stops in his tracks and will not move until I take them off. I will keep trying, but for now the jury is still out.”

Hi Jane, Thank you for your feedback. Some people and animals need an adjustment period to get use to the effects. We recommend an introductory period of up to 4 hours per day for the first 2-3 days. After the introductory period, you may gradually increase the time your dog wears the Hock Brace. It may help to put the brace on while your dog is lying down, so that he can get use to the feeling in a relaxed position. Once your dog appears comfortable, you can encourage him to stand an walk while wearing the brace. That said, if the brace doesn't seem to be a good fit for your dog, you are welcome to return the brace.
