“Kakadu is immensely big (2/3 of my country Belgium!!) hence we drove quite a bit, including 4WD. My highlights were the yellow water cruise and Jim Jim falls. Our guide was very charming and well informed about nature, culture, animals.. on top of that she was a super good driver.
On top of my preferred items, we experienced aboriginal culture in rock paintings, water fun at the designated swimming spots, scary spiders (too me at least, not to Australians), great company and great food.
the only thing that did not meet my expectations was the campsites: i had expected some remoteness... we just had a private part on a big general campsite. the washing facilities were clean and abundant though..
but the scenery is beautiful and at night I close my eyes so it was no major trouble”
