“Well worth the trip. You will learn a lot here. Friendly guided tours. Ask away. The only problem with purchasing through Backpackerdeals is that, when you go down to Te Puia ticketing office and change for the actual ticket, it takes quite awhile. As they would have to manually enter your booking voucher of each person.”
“With a limited time in Rotutua and a keen interest to see the Maori culture/kiwi/natural thermal features, Te puia naturally become our family choice of attraction. Apart from the beautifully maintained structures and facilities , Te puia is not commercially run attraction, instead it is a family runned business where most of employee are descendants from the nearby Maori village. With a strong interest to develop Maori culture for future , our ticketing revenue helps to contribute to the scholarship given to Kiwi who has a keen interest in Maori carpentry and sculpting. While we get to learn and appreciate Te Puia, our spending help to cultivate and preserve this important culture of New Zealand.”
“We were there for a couple of hours, checking out the geyser and taking a tour. Seeing the arts workshop was the highlight! Friendly people and very nice grounds.”
“Fab way to see some real culture. From the smelly mud-pools to a well executed Maori experience. Easy walking tracks, cafe facilities, takes around 2-4hrs”
“A very friendly and knowledgable guide provided an informative tour of the Te Puia area. The regularly erupting geyser and bubbling mud pools also ensured a unique and memorable experience.”
