“I booked this as a surprise for my wife and it turned out to be one of our favorite days in Taupo. The crew were easygoing, the boat wasn’t overcrowded, and the pace was perfect. We even got to help with the sails a little, which was fun.”

“Cool mix of culture and chill time. Being Māori myself, I was curious how the carvings would be presented and honestly they handled it well, respectful, informative, not overdone. Sailing was smooth and quiet. Great views the whole time. Definitely recommend if you want something slow-paced with a bit of meaning.”

“Honestly didn’t expect much and it ended up being one of my favorite things in Taupō. The lake is massive and just being out on the water felt so calm. Carvings were cool but the sailing itself was the highlight.”

“Wasn’t sure about an afternoon sail until I tried the 2pm cruise. Warm ponchos, hot drinks included, felt cozy on cooler days. Crew shared depth on the carvings and the lake’s volcanic history. On the return, I even helped hoist sails.”
