We learned about Maori culture for the first time through the guided tour and the cultural performance. With a 50mintures guided tour, we not only knew the history of Maori and the Crown, but also how they had interpreted the laws, and how New Zealand became a multi-cultural nation. The Maori culture perfromance show was a very impressive one that gave me a true sense of the passion of Maori culture, with a wide range of performance styles in either language or clothing. I highly recommend paying a visit.

After attending church while traveling, I enjoyed spending a Sunday afternoon at the Waitangi Treaty Grounds. I arrived just in time for one of the guided tours, which was followed by the Maori cultural performance. The historic buildings on the grounds are great to walk through and there are beautiful views of the Bay of Islands from the headland. I enjoyed the films in the visitor center and in the museum. The museum displays were also very attractive and informative.
