Took my little cousin and he had the best time!! Literally driving on the sand next to crashing waves. Sandboarding was a bonus. Would recommend.

Highlight was definitely the sand dunes. The hike up is rough but coming down is crazy fun. Felt like a kid again. Cape Reinga was beautiful and felt really significant too, not just a photo stop. It’s a long day but never boring.

Long day but so worth it. Our guide was super knowledgeable but also kept things fun. Loved the sandboarding stop, it was faster (and scarier) than I expected, but such a rush. Ninety Mile Beach looked like it went on forever. This is one of those tours that gives you a bit of everything: culture, scenery, and adrenaline.

The tour was good coach and driver were excellent. He picked us up and dropped us off close to where we were staying. Both stops were good and well organised so nobody waited. We had plenty of time at the beach and sand boarding was available if you wanted to. Enough time at Cape Regina to walk to the lighthouse and back. A lovely day out. Really glad we chose not to drive.

From Paihia, it’s a long drive to and from Cape Reinga, but Hughie was awesome! He shared bits of cultural facts and historical moments through out the day as well as interjecting personal stories that kept us listening and smiling. He broke up the drive with morning and afternoon tea stops at the beautiful Kauri artisan museum plus a good sandboarding and walking on Ninety Mile Beach. He set the tone and helped us appreciate the uniqueness of Cape Reinga not just geographically but Māori culturally as well. It was a long day but so rich and informative.

I highly recommend this tour. The driver was very informative and helpful. Cape Reinga was absolutely amazing! Driving down 90 mile beach and sand boarding was definitely an experience.
