“A MUST do in Cairns! Everyone is friendly and helpful. Our guide Tom is funny and accommodative, if you want the boat to flip or drop backward or simply go a dip in the river he will know when/where is safe to do so. Yes there is some waiting time for other boats to get through but the whole experience is about 3 hours, you will get tired from paddling so just chit chat and get to know your boat members! And definitely buy the photos LOL”

“An incredible experience! Our guide Kristian was super skilled and really funny too. The river is fantastic and the guides really know how to make the experience exilerating but also keep you safe. The water was a nice cool temperature and the environment is absolutely pristeen. We were super lucky to see a Cassowary on the banks of the river! We have rafted overseas but this was the best by far. My partner and I live locally so will be back again.”

“What an amazing experience we had our guide, "Sexy Paul", take us through a very meticulously navigated, thrilling and beautiful white water rafting journey. He was super knowledgeable about his craft and the waterways, and made our whole boat of differing nationalities feel so comfortable and connected. The utmost attention and effort was paid to ensuring our safety and that we enjoyed our experience - so much so one of our boat members who had never swam before slid down a water rapid by herself. It was a great day and we all walked away with cups a little more full. Big love.”

“What an experience! I enjoyed the full day out on the Tully. From the moment we boarded the bus to Tully, the fun didn’t stop until we were safely returned to our accommodation, pretty much in one piece. We were lucky enough to have not one, but two kick ass River Guides, Mat and Tom, leading us down the Tully. Mat and Tom were able to perfectly balance the jokes/banter (ensuring we enjoyed every minute), the info sessions (allowing us to fully understand what makes the land and water so special), and safety. While the rafting itself was an exhilarating experience to say the least, and while you truly are at the mercy of the rapids, Mat and Tom kept us feeling safe for the entire journey. We were even lucky enough to experience the chaos of a raft flip in a controlled setting! 10/10 experience, the highlight of our trip to Cairns, and I can’t wait to do it again! Thanks to the guys at Raging Thunder!!”
