“Absolutely love my Herons! Super soft leather and slight wedge heel gives just the right amount of lift. A great alternative to sandles during the warmer months. As some reviews said, the length of the strap is on the small side but they are still ultra wearable and it really didn't bother me.”
“Strap was too short, and hard to pull through the catch. I emailed bared and they quickly responded that the shoe and strap would stretch. I love the shoe and have found the leather and stretched enough for the shoe to work. The strap still can’t go all the way through the catch, but stays in place and I can’t pull the shoe on and off without having to bother with the strap. Still very happy.”

I’ve been waiting for Bared to release a flat mule and was super excited to see the Heron launch. Particularly in a normal leather colour! I often find Bared shoes impractical and difficult to match with their light colours and fragile suede, so I was thrilled that this pair was more practical (matches more neutrals and won’t stain or scratch easily). It’s a beautiful shoe, but I do struggle with a few things.
My initial concern was that the strap was too short and iffy quality - it feels like a cheap plastic. I have figured if I just keep it fastened and slide it on and off my heel it is less risky. Additionally, where the leather cuts across the top of the foot it is quite stiff and I’m not yet sure if it will loosen up enough to be comfortable for all day wear.
While I love Bared (and their excellent service) and have many of their shoes, I’m trying to give this pair the benefit of the doubt hoping that it will not only last but also become more wearable with time. I don’t mind paying Bared prices in most cases, but time will tell if these are worth the cost. Fingers crossed these don’t end up in the back of my closet with the Keas that never quite broke in for me!”

“This is my second pair of shoes from Bared, and it reminded me WHY I LOVE BUYING FROM BARED! They are so comfortable and stylish, and a great summer shoe. And when I say they're comfortable, I mean it! I find shoes very difficult to buy and I'm very picky. I have literally not taken these shoes off since I received them a couple of weeks ago!
I agree with the previous reviewers that the strap is a bit short, but it can be lengthened. If this worries you, I would size up. I'm in between a size 37-38, and a 38 was perfect for me.”
“Soon as I saw these on insta I new I needed them in my life. When they arrived the did not disappoint. The perfect shoes for when it isn’t quite warm enough for sandals but boots are too heavy looking. They have a great sole for maximum comfort. The heel strap also helps them stay in place.

“They arrived today and I haven't taken them off as they're so comfortable. I love the closed in toe so I can wear them to work The strap is a fraction short but works fine and they fit my wide feet perfectly. Roll on Summer!”
