“I bought these shoes to wear after a varicose vein procedure - I needed something flat that could accommodate compression tights. I loved that the lapwing shoes had studs because I like the edge it gave them. I was a bit worried that the straps would not flatter my rather thick ankles but I needn't have worried - the strap is so fine and so well placed that is actually improves what nature has given me. The shoes were immediately comfortable - no wearing in required. They are now my 'go to' shoe - I try to wear them whenever possible. Would love to see these come out in more colours!”

“I love this shoe for running around in or work casual day when I don't mind wearing a flat (as a height-challenged person!). I did loose a couple of studs like another reviewer, and do need to pop in-store to have this fixed as I've always been impressed with Bared's service in this regard.”
“Very comfortable footbed however I found the leather to be quite stiff and uncomfortable. I’ve only worn them once and got blisters on top of my middle toe and I’ve never had blisters there before. They are beautiful shoes and I would give them another go to try and wear them in once my blister heals but probably good to note that the leather is a bit stiff on this shoe.”
Hi Tammy! Thank you for taking the time to review our Lapwing flats. We try to use leathers that are relatively stiff as to ensure they don't stretch out of shape after a few wears. We understand sometimes this requires a bit of wearing in, but we prefer to provide shoes that last the distance!
Please allow a few wears to allow the leather to soften. If you're having trouble breaking in your shoes, we recommend wearing them around the house with a pair of thick socks. By doing this a few times for an hour or so, this will heat up the leather and mould them to the shape of your foot.
