“I tried several sneakers at the Auckland store, having travelled from another city on the recommendation of my podiatrist for shoes to accomodate my long narrow feet and orthotics. Eventually settled on the white Whimbrel as, given the investment, I wanted something to go with most outfits and occasions. I am between a 41 and 42, so the 42 is a little long but better than something too short (would be great to have half sizes). Very disappointing to find these are incredibly dangerous on wet smooth concrete as others have noted. On my first outing it was like walking on ice in a wet car park building. The "Slip Resistant Sole" seems only suitable for dry conditions, and suggest "Slip tested to SATRA TM144 standard" isn't sufficient. This will make me think twice to invest in Bared shoes again. Disappointing given how hard it is to find footwear suitable for orthotics and narrow feet.”
