“As some others have noted there are a few challenges some people have experienced with Surfbird. In my case, these include extreme discomfort and blisters all around, an inner sole that is not leather so isn’t breathable and makes feet sweat, and is fixed so cannot be taken out and another bared inner sole used instead. In addition, the leather leaves black die stains all over my feet even when wearing tights. The leather upper is very soft and thin and hasn’t got much structure so it doesn’t feel very supportive. I welcome the fact that the size is a bit roomier in length, but because there isn’t much structure to the leather outer it doesn’t look particularly flattering on a wider foot. I have nearly 20 pairs of Bared shoes and these are the most disappointing and least comfortable I have bought. I do not feel the surfbird is the usual Bared quality for the price point. In the same order I bought a pair of Whydah and they are so comfortable and much more enjoyable.”
“Love these! They were comfy from the first time I wore them. I normally wear size 38 in Bared but had to size down to a 37 as my feet were slipping a lot. I’ve gotten lots of compliments wearing them!”
“i.love.these.shoes. They’re my go-to for work, but they also are great with jeans for a more casual look. Hella comfy - I’m a fast stomper and can walk all day in them. I even get compliments when I style them with white crew socks for a preppy vibe.”
