“Had heel blisters the first time i wore but i think as the leather broke in it got better. Definitely well constructed and comfortable - I normally walk 10k steps a day and this shoe can last me around 7k steps before my feet start aching. But 7k does go pretty far considering i have flat feet
One concern though is I’ve seen people on Reddit complaining about the quality of their Bared shoes going down over the years - and some pieces peeling/ breaking after a few months to a year of purchase. As this isn’t the most affordable shoe i would like it to last me more than a year - so let’s see about the durability”
“Love the look of these, they’re very chic. I have plantar fasciitis in one foot and I feel like the arch of these sit way too far back for it to be totally comfy on that foot for long periods of time. But they’re ok if you’re mostly just at your desk or sitting down.”
“The good: same very comfortable sole as my other Bared shoes. At the end of the day, my feet weren't sore or tired.
The neutral: I like a slightly wider-looking square toe. I like a square toe that looks like it's a round toe that was squared off. These are more like a pointed toe that's been squared off. This is a purely subjective preference, so other people may feel differently.
The not-so-good: The toe box isn't as structured as my other two pairs of Bared shoes. In these, the leather is soft and doesn't keep its shape as well. I have a hammer toe (ew, I know), and you can see it sort of sticking up, which i don't love. It also means that these don't look quite as formal as I expected. The soft toes get creases with wear.
More concerning, there is a lot less attention to detail on the interior finish of the shoes. The thread that sews the strap to the sides of the shoes is rough, and there's no soft leather covering it. It rubbed my feet for the first hour, so I added the little gel things that were included. However, those didn't stick very well, and they fell off into the shoe.
More concerning, the trim around the shoe rubs the heel. In my other Bareds, the heels have a special extra-soft padding with no seams where the heel of the shoe touches my heel. In these, there's some padding, but the trim and the seam of the trim rubs my heel.
Overall, these are still comfortable, but they don't feel like the same quality shoe, with the same attention to detail, as my others. If the price was lower, I would accept that. But the price isn't lower, so I expect the same softness and finish level as I got with the others. These feel like a decrease in production costs, with no decrease in price.
Alternatively, I would like the website images of the products to show what the interior finish level is of each item. I'll buy more Bareds, but I'd like to see if they have soft heels like my others, or ones like the Surfbird.”
