“I have an original Swiss Army Watch (ca 1991), and I needed a new strap. I saw the Barton quick-release Crafted Canvas strap and it looked like a great choice. I also know my watch specifies a 19mm band. The Barton particulars suggest going up 1mm in this case, so I ordered a 20mm band. When the band arrived I really liked the look and feel, but there was no way the quick-release 20mm pins were going to fit into the watch receivers. I used an optical loupe and determined they missed by about 1/4 mm -- close, but it wasn't going to happen. Then I remembered that the Barton website also said I could switch their quick-release pins out, replacing them with the original 19mm pins. Well sir, I did that, and of course everything worked great. The strap looks like it belongs with the watch, it fits just fine thank you, and realistically I wasn't planning to switch out my watch bands every other day anyway. If you've read this far and you're interested in how to handle Barton's 20mm with an original Swiss Army Watch, here's my advice: Get the 20mm Crafted Canvas quick-release band (in black, if you want my opinion), swap out the 20mm pins and insert your 19mm pins, and carry on!”
