“First impressions on receiving this strap are that it is a quality product. The finish, both on the strap and the buckle, is excellent. The leather has that special 'feel' that only comes with good quality. Attaching the strap to the watch is a snip, due to the simple and tiny quick-release mechanism. This was bought as a replacement strap for an old, valued and much worn watch. It makes it look like new again.

“The band is lovely. The quick release is genius. My rating would be a 5 if the sizing were true. The jeweler measured the lug in accordance with Barton instructions. 15 mm. However, the band does not fill the lug and the pin falls out. (I later read a review that complained of the same problem. The pin is too short does not secure the watch band.) This was a gift to my brother for a special watch inherited from my father (along with two other Barton watch bands). Very disappointed that my brother now has to try to get Barton to address the problem. I don’t know if they will replace the bands or send longer pins.
Another disappointment was that 15 mm bands do not offer a choice of buckle colors. We wanted gunmetal grey to go with the black alligator band, but had to settle for stainless steel. If we had known that the pin was not long enough to secure the band to the watch, we could have ordered 16 mm and gotten our choice of buckle colors.”
