“Looks handsome; I have it on a $900 black dress watch. The rubber back keeps the watch from rolling around on you wrist.
Minus one star because it's extremely stiff and doesn't want to conform to the wrist, so it's slightly uncomfortable. I tried to break it in by taping it around a 2 inch dowel and leaving it for a couple of days. This helped, but didn't completely solve the problem.
Since it's made from molded rubber, I'm wondering if you couldn't mold in a wrist shaped curve, instead of molding it flat.”
“Extremely disappointed. The rubber is very very hard & stuff. More like solid plastic. I regret buying them. The leather part is fine, but the rubber underlayer is rock hard plastic, does not conform to the wrist at all. Just really bad. Waste of money. It's a shame too, their elite silicone & canvas straps are great. I really had high hopes for these hybrid straps. It's NOT rubber. Plastic.”
“The workmanship is fine; no complaints. But...
(1) this strap is unwearable out of the box - way too stiff, especially the buckle section. I may put a hairdryer on it to try and soften it, and hopefully fit my wrist.
(2) This black version is very smooth with no texture or pattern, and actually looks more like rubber than leather. In other words, Barton's photo is accurate.
I advise buying instead an all leather strap, or their tropic rubber model.”
“The watch band seems like a great idea however the underside is composed of long box-shaped grooves that have been eating my arm. It made my watch unwearable until I find a new one. Not sure about bartons other products. But this one is horrid”

“I like the "idea" of this strap, but it just doesn't deliver compared to the Elite Silicone options. The underside rubber is very stiff, and the ridges create pressure points around the bend of the wrist that quickly become uncomfortable, bordering on painful. Also, after one wearing, the leather looks pretty sad. This is one of the rare instances where I really wish I could get my $40 back for this strap...”
