“Top of firebox ring arrived chipped, hidden beneath the plastic protector. BBQ land refused to replace the ring or allow returns unless I got the grill back to them”
We referred the issue to Kamado Joe themselves, as the chip was very very small, and insignificant to usage of the product. This part is covered under lifetime warranty in any case, and the customer was informed that should the firering ever break completely due to normal usage then a replacement would be forthcoming, no questions asked.
Kamado Joe are excellent in honouring their warranty promise, but the issue on this firering was so tiny as to be almost impossible to see on the photos, and therefore we concur with them that no detriment has occurred.
