“Augustiner is arguably the best lager beer in the world. It is simply miles better than anyone else's domestic lagers. That I've tasted. I've proudly enjoyed a beer in more than forty seven countries due to work abroad and I can hand on heart say that Augustiner is the absolute finest. Nothing feels like more of a reward after a day's graft. Or, isolation, if that's your current thing. I cannot tell if actually tastes better when I'm Munich... depends how much environment impacts on one's enjoyment... but find yourself a giant pretzel and sit on the garden with one of these and shout prost to anyone vaguely listening and really enjoy.”

“Delicious. Drank this for the first time in Munich 20 years ago and loved it then, as I do now. Very refreshing, well balanced, sharp but with a slight sweetness also. Excellent Helles. Do not settle for imposters (trendy brewers who think they're doing Helles style but are creating abominations). Go straight for the Daddy of them all.”

“Described by others as being one of the best beers of its type in the world, I would be loath to disagree. This beer is delicious, so easy to drink, crisp and light, with no bitter aftertaste. It has a subtle hoppiness, but overall it's a light alternative to the more malty beers we may be used to. One downside: if you bring some of this to a party, expect it to be popular, so you will have to share! A truly lovely drink”
