“My wife and I have 6 children so we have a huge garden. The majority of it is canned and stored for the Winter months - huge money saver. The problem is the deer and racoon population is overwhelming in my area. I got the chance to try the Birds Choice wild bird food, spicy signature variety. It took a few days but the seeds actually did repel the wild animals feeding off the plants and fruit we are growing. This spicy mix keeps deer, squirrels, raccoons and other wildlife from feasting as their taste buds are over powered by the crushed pepper oil used in making this mix. It's fine for the birds as they don't have any taste buds but the animals do. We spread this mix 3 feet away from the garden and by the 3rd day, we noticed a decline in "theft", lol - of our food being dinner for the deer and mostly racoons. This was supposed to be a 10lb bag but for some reason, the ziploc type bag contained 1.5 lbs. of seed. Not nearly enough to continue our quest to keep the critters away. We will buy more as we did see a difference in loss of our plants.”

Since putting out this spicy blend, the squirrels do not touch it, and the birds have finally been able to eat. We are also getting different types of birds that we usually don’t see.
