“Putting this batting out ahead of a big storm and the birds lost their minds, snatching fluff like treasure. Best front-row wildlife show ever at home.”
“I recently added this cotton nesting ball to my backyard, and it’s been a hit with the birds! The soft, natural cotton is perfect for nest building, and I’ve already seen chickadees and finches pulling fibers to line their nests. It’s easy to hang, blends nicely with the environment, and provides a safe, chemical-free material for our feathered friends. If you enjoy watching birds up close and want to help them during nesting season, this is a simple and effective way to do it. Highly recommend for any bird lover!”
“I put one out now in fall and already birds have plucked at it and filled a bird house with it . Nice size but very pricey. I recently saw it at my garden center for $4 less so I bought a few more.”
Thank you for sharing your feedback! We're so glad to hear the birds are already enjoying the cotton nesting material and putting it to good use. We appreciate your note on pricing — retail prices can vary by location, but we’re happy you were able to find more at your garden center. Thanks for supporting Birds Choice and for helping your local birds stay cozy!
“DELIGHTFUL. Taking the advice of another reviewer, we removed the cotton from the netting and spread it out in the double suet-cage. We then hung it on our wooden back fence. Sparrows and Chickadees are my first users. It is a fascinating, multi-step process: First pull out a huge wad of cotton and then prepare it for the nest. I watched a Chickadee use its feet to stretch and separate its wad of cotton. Sparrows tend to hang their cotton out on feeders and the fence to dry and fluff. I ordered another cotton ball for the second-round of nests. Another big plus for me: Starlings are *not* interested in the cotton. YAY!”
“The day after I hung the cotton nest material on my balcony, the finches were at it. I will definitely order this again next year. I hope the picture of the finch with the beakful of cotton comes through.”
