The two inch height provides enough room for seed/feed and provides space for the birds to perch. Not sure if larger birds will find it roomy! Looks solid, sturdy and well constructed. You will need something to hang it on to. The S-hook at the top makes hanging easy. The meshed metal bottom helps with cleaning. Just hose it down in your yard after a light brush scrub.
My worry is with the squirrels which are all around the house - front and back, left and right. They get to the stuff before the birds. And I do not want to make this a squirel hangout/joint.
Go for it, now is the season in spring and welcome birds and nature with this bird feeder.”
