“Our property backs up to conservation land and a state forest, so we get lots of different birds to come to the feeder. They come in waves: sparrows, house finches, cardinals, grackles, downy woodpeckers, titmice, chickadees, red bellied woodpeckers, wrens, bluebirds, rose breated grosbeaks, and an occasional baltimore oriole. Often, mourning doves patrol the ground looking for tidbits, and wild turkeys come by to peck at everything that got missed. At first, after we changed out the black oil sunflower feeder, they were suspicious of the new seed cylinders. Now, they can't wait to get on them and feast. And we very rarely see a squirrel now. One went up the pole to check things out and came down in a hurry. Another tried a piece that was on the ground and took off like a shot. Well done Mr. Bird!
