“I ordered the incorrect size, when ordering the feeder. I called customer service and they gave me the correct bee guard ordering information. I did get a refund for the 1st order. The “correct” size bee guards came and they are too big for the ports in the feeder. I emptied the feeder out, to clean it and the port covers fell off and went down the drain. The guards are loose on the ports. I’m going without for now, and keeping my fingers crossed. The feeder looks nice and I have had a few visits from my h-bird friends.”
“The soft bee guards are easy to press onto the nectar openings of the Oriolefest Bird Feeder. These allow hummers and orioles to drink the nectar and the bees can not fit into the hole. (From time to time a small bee may get stuck in the hole and if I notice one I can ease them out with a piece of paper towel made into a point.) The bees can not fill the feeder so they are not drowning by the dozens. This is the best answer I have ever had for accomadating orioles.”
“I use these bee guards on my oriole feeder. These guards do a good job of keeping the bees from entering the nectar bowl through the nectar ports. I have had very few honeybees that drowned in the nectar. However, the bees can still stick their heads into the feeding ports because these bee guards are very flexible. Occasionally, I have had a honeybee get her head stuck and I have had to cut the bee guard to rescue the bee. If you keep the level of nectar low (less than 1/2 full), you may be able to avoid this problem as the bees will not be able to access the nectar by putting their heads into the feeding ports. I like these guards because I enjoy watching the honeybees and attracting them to my yard. Not everyone would like this, however. Note that if the honeybees are dominating your nectar feeder, the hummingbirds and orioles will not be able to access the nectar. You may have to move your feeder or take it down for a time.”
“We love our bees but they broke through the original bee guards on our feeder so we replaced all of them. AND took away all the jelly. So far so good - fingers crossed.”

“I've used dish feeders for my Orioles for years and now when I needed a new supply of bee guards for them, the only place that came up online was at Birds Choice. They work very well at keeping bees out of the feeder though sometimes in the fall when the bees get more desperate for sugar, they do chew their way through. When that happens, I just replace the guards and also put a separate sugar water feeder for the bees away from my orioles. I stocked up and got free shipping!”
