“As you can see in the photo I purchased two suet feeders. I needed a suet feeder that can screen out starlings. This caged suet feeder is wide enough that starlings can stretch their necks through the openings and bite the suet with their longs beaks. I haven't yet seen any starlings eat away at the suet in these suet feeders.”
“Southeastern Michigan after living in Florida - I started with a typical open suit feeder with a tail support. Common grackles and Starlings could devour a suet cake in about 2 hours. I use a squirrel baffle, so I cannot comment on squirrels. This caged suet feeder works really well. The larger birds can’t get to the suet, and I have not seen house sparrows try to get in even though they perch on it. Chickadees, both nuthatches, house finches, and downy woodpeckers have gone right in. Very pleased with this purchase.”
