I built a simple Aimee engagement ring with my husband of only 5 years!
Over the summer we found out that my husband is in the late stages of terminal brain cancer. In trying to process this sudden and devastating development, we talked a lot of our "what ifs" out. I asked him what I should do about wearing my wedding ring after he's gone. He told me to wear it if I want to, but first get the one you've been dreaming of.
For weeks, while my husband could barely get out of bed, but needed me to be here with him, I weighed and evaluated options. I , I tried to avoid the obvious signs that this was truly our new reality by ring shopping in the hours and hours of loneliness that come with care giving.
We landed on a simple oblong cushion cut grown diamond. I chose a little over a carat because I have baby sized hands and had it set in the Aimee band. I worried because the Aimee is a very thin band. Do NOT worry, because they build it up a little higher it's as strong and solid as any of my more "normal" sized bands.
My diamond is unparalleled, it is gorgeous and clean and brilliant!

“We had issues since the beginning. The engagement ring arrived with the diamond off center and prongs too short for the diamond. We sent the ring back twice and both times, nothing was done. We went close to 7 weeks without the ring. We took it to two local jewellers to have the ring fixed and both didn't want to touch the ring. We decided to return the setting for a refund and we are still waiting on our diamond to return. We had two different managers assigned to our case. The first one failed to return our calls and emails. Overall, we don't recommend you buy a whole engament ring from BE - buy the diamond and get someone else to make you the setting. The customer service, although very nice ppl, were useless and said everything you wanted to hear to get you off the phone.”
