I'm sorry you are having trouble with your brush. We'd be happy to help you troubleshoot. Are you clicking the brush open at the bottom? We have a locking mechanism on all of our brushes to prevent spills. Be sure to turn the brush into the OPEN position before you give it a flick of the wrist. (The blue portion of the brush with the writing on it clicks to the left to open the brush and to the right to close.) If you have done that, then the best way to see the powder is being applied is to start with the back of one of your hands. Buff the powder on your hand, just as you would on ½ of your child’s face. After doing this, compare the back of your hand to your other hand. You will be able to see the difference, that means the powder is there. It is difficult to see the powder on a child's face because their skin is so perfect and smooth. When properly applied Brush On Block is very effective.

“I’m only giving 3 stars because while it’s an excellent idea, the product didn’t work for all of us. I had no issues and neither did one of my kids but the other 2 children experienced a rash after being in the sun for 20 minutes. It wasn’t a sunburn, as it slowly went away after cleaning their faces and applying hydrocortisone cream, but a reaction to the product itself. I may use it again for myself but will have to stick to traditional sunscreens for my children. I’m not seeing anything in particular within the list of ingredients that they’re allergic to but they definitely experienced some sort of allergic reaction to this. All in all, excellent idea, but I am a tad disappointed that I paid the high price for something only I’ll only be able to use going forward.”

While Brush On Block has been tested to be safe for sensitive skin, it is always possible that someone has an allergy to one of the ingredients. That is clearly what happened in this case, and we are so sorry you had this experience.
