I was disappointed with and shocked by the design of the back cover of the iPad Brydge Pro with such simple magnetic back not fully protecting my iPad.

Am returning this keyboard. The aluminum keyboard is nicely done and obviously durable. Keys are fine. This is the only keyboard I could find that has hinges which is the reason I bought it. Here are the reasons I’m returning it: 1) There is a problem with latency in “waking up” the keyboard between uses. Brydge hasn’t been helpful. Claims this is normal but in trying to enter “Brydge” into Outlook search bar the first letter of Brydge to appear was “e” and I’m typing with two fingers. Ive had two previous brands of Bluetooth cases and never had this problem before. 2) the “cover” that comes with this offers absolutely no protection for the iPad other than against scratches. In a fall the iPad is totally vulnerable. Their strategy is apparently to charge an extra $30-40 for a hard cover like they did with the last generation 12.9 iPad. 3) There is no way to hold the pencil on top of the iPad. I had to take mine off and go looking for it whenever I want it. Ergo, danger of losing it. 4) For some reason when typing emails in Outlook there are no page breaks. You have to manually hit enter to start a new line which begins with a capital letter. I tried typing an email in Outlook with the keyboard connected but using the on-screen keyboard and the page breaks worked fine. In summary, I like the keyboard for regular typing except the page-break problem with Outlook. I think the keyboard looks durable. I really like having the keyboard and iPad attached and being able to set the angle of the iPad. I haven’t been impressed with Brydge customer support. Including shipping and sales tax, this keyboard cost me $175. Add $40 for a protective cover and you are over $200. This is too much. Even though returning it may cost me shipping and a restocking fee, I consider this a defective product and not worth keeping.. Too bad as I have been waiting for months for this keyboard to be available.

Love the keyboard. Keys are probably the best I’ve felt, just as good or better than the MacBook pro’s. Would be 5 stars, but I have the 12.9in IPad Pro. I don’t know how it is with the 11in, but mine is too top heavy for the hinges. When I’m typing it is perfectly fine, but touching the screen is like a bobble head going back and forth. Maybe with the magnetic back, they could implement something similar to how the Surface Pro has a kickstand?? Would definitely buy again, and probably will when they release the new one to be comparable with Apple’s IPad OS 13.
