My kickstand broke on my perfectly functioning Surface Pro 3. Instead of repairing it myself (and buying the parts) or buying a new one, I invested in Brydge. Not only did they provide hinges for Surface Pro 3, but it stabilized it better than the kickstand ever did. Side benefit, it now feels like a true laptop and not a tablet. I find it easier to use on the go even though it add a bit of weight. The only downfall is the mouse pad. When I want to right click, it left clicks. Can be very annoying, but easily resolved by using the touch screen or wired/wireless mouse.

So far I have not run into any problems using this keyboard. It took a couple times to sync right, but once it did it worked great.

I had the 12.3 Keyboard on my surface 2017 pro for more than a year now. I still believe that Brydge team, with their innovative ideas, can do better with the touchpad.

I have used every iteration of Surface since MS started producing them. (About to upgrade to SP6 and while I love the black, my Brydge onboard memory keyboard is silver, so I am likely going to stick with it). I travel a lot for work, and I do notice a little more weight with the keyboard, but being able to setup on the seatback tray and work is worth it! I frequently use my Surface as a tablet and I haven't had any issues putting it onto or taking it off of the keyboard. Make sure you use the appropriate pads and don't use any gorilla strength to connect the two. I also have a keyboard with 128 GB storage on my personal Surface and the additional storage is very handy. Battery life on the keyboards is great, and I haven't had any issues synching to my computers. Excellent products.

I did find the hinges out quite a bit of pressure on the screen. Maybe if it is possible the clamp hinges could be re-designed so now as much pressure is on the screen. It also needs a bigger track pad.

Come on, give me a date that the matte black for a surface pro 6 will be available. I am suffering from this lousy surface pro keyboard.
