This makes the surface pro suck a lot less.... Its not perfect, but its a lot better than the worthless type cover that MSFT sells. Pros - Backlit keyboard, stability on lap, good keys, long battery life Cons - Somewhat touchy touchpad. Right-click is fidgity. No configurability.

Brydge keyboard converts the Surface Pro to a laptop in a snap. I love it, I can work on my desk, in a chair, bed, etc. without trying to balance the floppy cover/keyboard. It doesn't look or feel aftermarket. The only wish I have is an optional magnetic ribbon cable connection. I use encryption software that requires a hard connection to enter credentials before Windows is opened so I still need the old cover to startup after a scheduled shutdown.

So far so good with my purchase, but it weighs more than I anticipated. I would have thought it to be somewhat lighter.

Very high quality braided construction should last a few years if not more. A good chance it won't fray like most stock connectors do at times.

I really like my new cord. It charges fast and I think it will outlast the original cord. My cat isn’t interested in it either! I would like to get a longer one as well!

Why would you want me to review a simple charging cable and not the keyboard? I love the keyboard in a lot of ways. The keys have a really easy, tactile feel and touch. It synced very easily the first time I connected it, but after taking my iPad off the keyboard to use it as a standalone it did not want to re-sync after reattaching it – finally got it to work but could never really figure out what was going on. Also, I thought I would be able to use ALL the keyboard shortcuts I’m accustomed to with my iMac, but that’s not the case. Quite a few of them work which is nice, but one I’ve come to rely on is hitting command-tab to bring up a dialogue which lets me hit command-tab to scrolll through all the apps I have open and then hit command-q to quit the ones I want –that doesn’t work with the Brydge. Also, even when I quit programs they still appear in the dialogue, it’s as if it shows me every app I’ve used recently, not just the ones currently open. But enough of the negative, overall I’m really enjoying it and am glad I purchased it.
