“Glad I waited for version 2 of the keyboard after reading reviews for the previous model. Very well constructed and sturdy. Stays connected. Responds to most standard command shortcuts which is great. Keypad spacing is a bit tight, but workable. Love the fact that it has the look and feel of a Mac keyboard. I do wish there was an ESC key for some app functions. Overall, the keyboard does give the iPad a laptop feel and provides more functionality for me.”

“Look — there’s no such thing as a perfect product. Everything has issues, and sometimes that’s okay. This keyboard does exactly what I wanted — it’s comfortable to type on, makes my 10.5 Pro useable on my lap, and makes my iPad into the professional device I’ve always wanted it to be. The keys are responsive, the media keys are wonderful, and the device is held firmly — I’ve never had concerns about the device coming apart from the keyboard. The backlighting is useful, and does not appear to have a major impact on battery life — which is phenomenal. All this said, I do have some issues with the device. Most are related to finishing. While overall build quality is good, several details — mainly relate to the keys themselves — leave room for improvement. The keys themselves don’t sit squarely in their sockets, meaning that light leaks out of edges of the keys. The keys themselves have pleasant spring, but appear to rotate slightly inside their sockets as I type. Some letters appear to be printed off-center on their keycap, which isn’t a big issue but hurts my OCD and speaks to something of a lack of finesse in manufacturing. Perhaps my biggest issue, however, is occasional dropped strokes. It’s inconsistent, but it’s frequent enough that I know it’s not just me. I have also occasionally become disconnected from the Bluetooth and struggled to get re-paired without some effort. You’ll notice my list of issues is long, but my review is still 4 stars. This is not an accident; I struggle with these issues, but overall the experience is more than worth the aesthetic and finishing deficiencies. I will say that if the dropped keys continue, I’m likely to request that Brydge replace the keyboard. We’ll see. Either way, I feel that I can recommend this device with confidence if you are able to overlook some small issues for an overall paradigm shift in the way you use your device. “The keyboard is fantastic! My husband gave me an iPad for my birthday a couple years ago and I didn't enjoy using it when I had my laptop or phone on hand. But now that my laptop is older (and I'm too cheap to buy a new one), I decided to buy this keyboard in hopes to use it as a laptop when needed. And it works like a charm. I bought the rose gold keyboard to match my iPad and the color is near identical. The keys are very smooth, there is a slight delay at times, but for the most part it's great. And I'm really happy with my purchase. I do want to say that the Brydge company and their customer service reps are really outstanding. My order was unfortunately stolen in my building after it was delivered, but the reps at Brydge helped to remedy the situation and expeditiously! Very happy with the product and purchase experience overall!”
