“Stand is very good and working well. I ordered the version that is intended for monitors up to 30 pounds but it could not hold my 22 pound LaCie monitor. Eventually bought a new EIZO monitor and the mount is working just great. Older heavy monitor purchasers should be aware even 30 pound version may not be adequate.”
“Great for what I needed with my mouse & keyboard on same surface. The only negative features I have found that with using a corded mouse mine fights with the lift lever. Why is it not on the left side above the keyboard where no cables would be? The second negative is the monitor adjustment nuts behind the wing nuts, when I loosen them to adjust the monitor height the nut behind slides down the groove in the monitor mast post & they are very hard to get slid back up to where you need them. Other than that everybody in my office is very jealous of my work station!”
“I relied on BTOD reviews of "standing desks" before I found out they had designed The Duke - a product which they reviewed very honestly. Despite the very minor aspects which they pointed out in their own review, I could not be happier with this product - a fairly easy assembly and adjustment process which, once complete, requires no further thought. It is very solid and very easy to use, and I've already recommended it to several people. Five stars for sure!”
“The Duke is well worth the investment. A member of customer service patiently answered all of my questions and helped me select exactly what I needed. Everything about the Duke showed attention to detail: from the damage-free packaging to the quality materials. The lift mechanism is smooth, powerful, and easily operated with one hand. The materials and stand are sturdy. The tray is roomy enough for a keyboard, mouse, and work materials. The tray also rests flush on the desk when in the lowered position. Congratulations on creating an excellent product!”
“Under most other circumstances I would give the Duke a 5-star rating. I am using it with a Lenovo M910z 23" All-in-one PC mounted on the stand with the supplied VESA mount. This PC weighs 15 lbs, so I ordered the Duke with the $40 option rated for a 13-30 lb load. With this combination, continued downward (not upward) pressure is required to control upward motion of the unit when raising it upward. When in a raised position, considerable downward pressure is required (with accompanied binding in the gas counterbalance mechanism) to lower the unit. The binding can be reduced a bit by pushing down on the back-left of the platform with the left hand when lowering the PC, rather than gripping the normal left-hand position. Bottom line -- the gas counterbalance mechanism should be adjustable by the enduser. Another minor nit with an easy fix: The keyboard platform flexes quite a bit when resting forearms on it. With platform in the down position, flexing can be eliminated by adding two more support pads near the center along the platform front edge. Pads like the ones already under platform front corners are available at hardware stores.”
“I looked for a perfect standing desk/workstation for tall people for a few months. I finally decided on Duke, silver/white version. It is perfect! Does not wobble when in "up" position, easy to use, when in "down" position, it is less than 1/2 inch from my actual desk. Was relatively simple to assemble, came super-well packaged. Also, I love the fact that it is made in Wisconsin, so I get to support our local economy. Highly recommend!”
