I'm a programmer that works from home and sitting all day was making my back ache and draining my energy. I wanted to make the switch to a standing desk, but I also didn't want to have to stand all day, particularly while adjusting to the new desk. I looked at several different adjustable desk and decided on this one due to how solid it is. I did not want a wobbly desk. With the programmable desk control I have it set to my standing height and my sitting height and I generally stand in the morning, sit around lunch for a couple hours, then back to my feet for the afternoon. The desk does require some assembly with a power drill and it could be easier, but it's not a tough job, just need to think it out and take your time.

This desk adjusts easily and quickly. I opted for the version that allows preset memory on heights, but I haven't even set that part up yet. You do have to hold your hand on the button to raise/lower, but it's fast and easy so I haven't bothered with setting presets yet. The stability is also very good. I was a bit worried after reading reviews about shaking while typing, etc, but I have none of those issues. Raising and lowering is smooth and not too loud. I can lean on the desk a little and not feel unsafe. I also have a desk hutch from a previous desk on my desk-top now and it is stable and doesn't shake or shift when I lower or raise the desk. I work from my home office an average of 6-10 hours a day and switching to a standing desk has made a positive difference in my productivity, focus and health. I'm now standing for about 2/3 of each work day. Also like the fact I can easily adjust the height when I am sitting in a chair - if I sit cross-legged, I can lower the height to a comfortable typing level. Before buying I was leaning toward a more expensive standing-desk company (more slick, styled and more expensive) but ultimately chose function and lower cost over that option (after also reading poor customer service reviews of the "high-end" company) and I am very happy with the style of this desk, actually. The aluminum matches my powermac tower perfectly and the clean, simple styling is all I need for a home-office. I'm not really using the power cord trays because I have other externals plugged in on a side shelf, so the cord organization isn't really that helpful, but I am sure if I wanted to put everything on the desk, it would be. Cons - the desktop feels a little "fake", but it's fine. My previous desk was solid wood so I think I notice the fake wood finish more because of that. So far the surface is wearing well and works fine. Cons - Installation was confusing. It took two people and we were at it for most of an afternoon. In sum, very happy with the desk, quick service, no problems with shipping. Happy with my choice. (I was offered a $10 starbucks gift card to write a review of my purchase)

The vertical legs offer great support. Even at its highest position, the desktop and keyboard tray are rock-solid. Highly recommend.

The tight yet smooth action of the telescoping vertical support columns provide a very stable work surface with no sway or loosness. The memory settings on the controller make getting back to the same sitting or standing heights a piece of cake.

Great for those who are unable to sit for long periods of time. Gives me the flexibility my back needs to do my job. Thank you!

After watching myself sit for hours on end, I decided I needed a standing desk, but also a desk I could drop to a sit if I ever hurt my ankle/leg or need to do my taxes. A motorized solid desk is the answer! There are a number of options on the market - but NewHeights and beyondtheofficedoor provided a product they stand behind. Also when I contacted them to ask a few questions about the desk, they went above and beyond to get me what I needed. I purchased the extra wide top in black, with the programable controller and could not be happier. The desk is solid. No monitors shaking when typing, it travels up and down with ease. I am sure the desk will last for years! Elegent solution for any office. As a note: I spend between 8 to 10 hours a day at this desk, 5 days a week.

I love this desk because it raises and lowers with the touch of a button. The ability to choose whether I sit or stand throughout the day is a luxury I wouldn't want to go without. Being able to stand through the afternoon really helps fight some of the fatigue that sets in during that time of the day. The construction of the desk took some concentration, and an assistant, but anyone can do it. A bit pricey, but i am willing to pay the extra cash for a quality product like this one that will hopefully last for decades.
