About Cancer Care Parcel:

After Dr Shara Cohen was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2013 she found there was very little time to just relax, take it all in and give herself ‘me’ time.

With all the appointments, liaising with work, telling the people who needed to be told…… there was little time to digest what was happening, research the practicalities or to just relax.. So she set up Cancer Care Parcel, to enable children and adults with cancer to take some of the worries away and bring some calm back into their lives.

“After my breast cancer diagnosis in 2018 I received one of these packs from a friend who knew what I would be going through, physically and psychologically, parts of it were immediately helpful and other elements I am still using 18 months later. All of our treatment journeys are different and this collection of items has elements that help ease the pain and anxiety, but the best part in hindsight is knowing the someone cared enough to send it to me. Helpful for pre and post surgery, radiotherapy and endocrine treatment - short term and the long hall. For chemo and immuno-therapy too no doubt but I don't have firsthand knowledge of these. When the time comes and it's someone I know, I will send a pack to them knowing it has given more than it's contents.”

“Wonderful gift idea for those going through chemo. My friend loved the package and used most of the items, especially the soft fluffy blanket. She wrapped it around herself and said it was like hug from all of us had chipped in to get her the parcel. Thank you!”
