About Cancer Care Parcel:

After Dr Shara Cohen was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2013 she found there was very little time to just relax, take it all in and give herself ‘me’ time.

With all the appointments, liaising with work, telling the people who needed to be told…… there was little time to digest what was happening, research the practicalities or to just relax.. So she set up Cancer Care Parcel, to enable children and adults with cancer to take some of the worries away and bring some calm back into their lives.

“My friends loved the care package this was her reply “So clever of you to think of all those appropriate goodies. A real treasure trove of useful things. I put the anti nausea wrist bands on straight away. They are helpful. The oncologist had suggested them but I’d forgotten that she’d said it. Also very useful is the lip balm and the very inventive little hand warmer. We don’t have a microwave so it’s perfect! You only have to heat it up in water. My hands and feet are always cold so I’m looking forward to using the hand warmer, the bed socks and gloves and the comforting fluffy blanket too. The peppermint teabags and ginger chews will be very soothing for the digestion and the lovely little cool bag is excellent for taking snacks to the hospital. The neck cushion is very comfortable and restful. I’ve already tried it out. And then there are all those pleasurable things to do like the colouring book and pencils and the stylish gold earphones.” Thank you for making it happen Kind regards, Sharifah Naguib, london.”
