The Mental Health, Dementia and Learning Disabilities course taught me that as a care worker we are supposed to respect the person's personal space and also to build quiet times into the day, along with activities. We should read out loud to people with learning disabilities and to use audio texts, color coding for organisation, use of graphic organisers [charts, diagrams].
